The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has confirmed that the next round of the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) will open for applications on 29 May 2025.
The FETF provides grants to support investment in equipment, machinery and technology that can help improve productivity, reduce environmental impact and enhance animal welfare on farms.
This funding round makes £46.7 million available to farmers, growers, foresters and their contractors across England.
Funding is available under three themes:
Grants range from £1,000 to a maximum of £25,000 for each theme.
Defra will pay a percentage of the cost of the item, which varies by item. The fund is competitive and if the grant is oversubscribed your application is more likely to be successful if you have not claimed more than £10,000 from FETF previously. Each theme has rules for scoring, to make sure public money is used well.
Applications will open for this on 29 May 2025. The window to apply will be open for six weeks, closing midday on 10 July 2025.
